Effective 22 September 2025, betPawa closed its operations in Senegal.

High taxes, a payment monopoly, and other regulatory costs make it impossible for us to compete with offshore operators who do not hold a local license and therefore do not face these burdens or pay any taxes in Senegal. As a result, local licensed operators like us cannot deliver the competitive product that customers demand.

In many other African markets with competitive taxes and payment fees, we've helped grow the local gaming market dramatically. We have significantly increased government tax revenues and created many local jobs. Unfortunately, in Senegal our growth has been weak, with much activity remaining or moving offshore.

We hope the environment will improve, and if it does, we will gladly return to serve you and contribute positively to Senegal's economy.
